Would you like to join our Visiting Committee? 

Established in 1896, Holton Home’s Visiting Committee is our oldest and most beloved tradition, which continues to this day.  Over the years, the Visiting Committee has reinvented itself to answer the needs of the times, and we are doing so once again!  If you have an interest in spending time with our residents (or helping us with fundraising), please join us at Holton Home on October 28th at 11:00am, to discuss future plans and hopefully add some new members to our team – one of whom could be you!    We would love to see you there! Do you just have a few hours? Or half an hour? That’s fine.  Want to get to know a resident who has no family?  We’ve got someone who would love to meet you!  Have a skill or interest you’d be comfortable sharing?  There are many opportunities to share yourself and your time, including: joining in on scheduled activities, reading to residents, helping a resident write letters, assisting with sending emails, going out to lunch with a resident or to an event, or becoming someone’s friend!  The list goes on. 

If you would rather devote your time to fundraising for the wonderful people who call Holton Home their “home”, then we have just the thing!Every year, the Visiting Committee puts on its annual tag sale, with all proceeds going to benefit the residents and the Home.The tag sale has brought in enough money to buy new furniture for the parlor, paint for rooms that need it, a new lawn mower that was desperately needed, and every year we get holiday presents for every resident.These are just a few of the many things that have been provided for over the years; thanks to our annual tag sale, and the dedication and effort of our volunteers!

As you can see, there are many things to enhance the day-to-day life of our seniors. Please join us October 28th to learn more about what we can do for our residents.
